Celle Qui Est Passee en Dessous de l'Ours Sans le Voir

The One Who Went Under the Bear Without Seeing It

I went to run to the park around mid-day yesterday. While I was going back home I found two cops cars parked right in a curve. I found it annoying because the visibility was already limited. It took a while to decide which car would go first (coming out of a Y), then backing up because the garbage truck was coming from the other side. With all that I only had 30mns left to shower and eat. Right after the cops cars there was a women taking a picture of a tree, I looked up, saw a dark mass and thought it might be a crow and that she was taking fall colors pictures, so I went my way.

It's only later that day when I called my husband during my break that I found out the cops were not there for a neighbor.  Nope, that dark mass in the tree was a mama bear and its three cubs! Information verified when I went on the local newspaper, recognized the tree in question and the address I had just gone by.

I can't decide if I'm dissapointed that I didn't see it or reassured because I would have been unable to resist getting my camera to take a picture and would have been late for work.
