J'aime le genre de sortie a deux qui me donne le sentiment d'avoir eu un jour de repos complet alors que je travaillais toute la journée. Ce fut le cas il y a une semaine, sur un thème international et quelque peu écossaise, d'où le "wee bit" du titre.

Pour commencer et sous forme d'appéritif nous nous sommes rendu à Highland Brewery. Une brasserie locale (avec un joueur de cornemuse comme logo) où avait lieu un évènement pour la sortie du 10e guide des fermes locales organisé par ASAP. Je n'avais jamais eu l'occasion d'aller à la brasserie même, bien que je connais leur bière depuis plusieurs années. Ils sont situés aux anciens studio de Blue Ridge Motion Picture comme le laisse entrevoir le chateau d'eau et les les signes des portes "stage". Ils ont une immense salle de dégustation, assez grande pour y tenir un mariage je pense. La bière était là bien sur (à acheter au bar), mais aussi des crevettes et grits du restaurant local Tupelo Honey, des tables avec le nouveau guide et la possibilité de participer à une lotterie sur fond de musique.

I like dates that make me feel that I had a full day off even if I was working all day. That was the case a week ago, with a bit of an international theme, slightly scottish in fact, hence the "wee bit" title.

We started with the Highland Brewery for apetizers. A local brewery (whose logo is a bagpipe player) where was taking place the release of the 10th farm guide by ASAP. I had never had the opportunity to go to the brewery itself, although I've know their beers for a few years. It's located in the former Blur Ridge Motion Picture studios as the water tower and the "stage" number signs suggested. They have a huge tasting room, big enough to hold a wedding. The beer was there (to purchase at the bar), but also shrimp and grits from Tupelo Honey, tables covered with the new guide and an optional lottery with music in the background.

Highland Brewery est ouverte de 16h à 20h les jeudis, vendredis et samedi avec de la musique live et à manger pour les deux dernier.

Vous pouvez aussi visiter la brasserie du lundi au samedi à 16h, c'est gratuit mais les donnations sont bienvenues et sont reversées à MANNA Food Bank. Il suffit de se présenter à la brasserie 5mn avant le tour.

Highland Brewery is open from 4-8pm Thursdays, Fridays and Thursdays with live music and food for the last two.

You can also visit the brewery Monday-Saturday at 4pm, it's free but donations are welcomed and go to the MANNA Food Bank. All you need to do is show up 5 minutes prior to the tour.
