Announcing The News to Friends

I've been wanting to tell yo how we announced the news to our friends for a while. Mind you, it's only been six months... It's one of my favorite moments of our pregnancy.
At about 14 weeks I reached the end of the first trimester. This is usually when the risk of miscarriage really drops and when most future-parents choose to make it official. It worked out great for us as it turned out to be the same week as Hubby's birthday. So we hit two birds with one stone. We invited a bunch of friend over for a pot-luck with the excuse of his birthday.
So here we are, gathered at home, chatting, munching. We were waiting for the right moment. But then some people announced they had to go "Oh stay a few more minutes, I'll bring the cake!". It actually worked out good because as two were about to leave, one arrived. So I brough the cake out. Hubby blew his candles and then I announced to everyone that I had a special present for him to open. I had in my hand the pink and red, well recognizable, Victoria Secret bag, the well known intimates brand in the US. I'll let you imagine the reactions : "Ooolala, what are you getting him?" "Is this PG-13?". Not to worry people.
So there, in front of his audience, my dear husband pulled out of the bag the onesie (pictured above) his step-sister had recently gifted us. Not quite what our friends were expecting. Although some did say later that there is a cause and effect...
In the meantime, I was watching our friend's reaction and saw a few jaws drop. They looked at us and I could see their brain storming. "Is this what we think it is?"... Yes it is we said smiling and welcoming the hugs of congratulations.

A few did ask if Hubby knew about it prior, which made me laugh. Of course he did, don't worry :)
In any case it was a really fun way to share the news with them.
At this time I am going to do my breakfast, afterward having my breakfast
