Petits fours express au chevre chaud

(Express goat cheese puff pastry appetizer)

Monique requested the recipe of what I called "goat cheese petits fours". It's far from diserving that name, but it was appreciated duing the Super Bowl.

Ingredients
A log of goat cheese
Puff pastry sheets
Paprika
Salt
Pepper
Herbes de Provence

In a bowl mix the crumbled goat cheese with the spices, quantities to your taste.

Spread the puff pastry. Personally I like to roll it down a bit so it's thiner. Cut squares of about 3 inches wide.
Put a tablespoon full or so of the goat cheese mix in the middle of each square.
Wet the sides of the dough so you can fold it close, press to hold.
Put in the oven a 375F for 20mn or until golden.
Let it cool a few minutes before serving.

Bon appétit.

  1. That sounds delicious! My favorite quick goat cheese appetizer involves slicing a baguette, and topping the slices with goat cheese, a drizzle of honey and then popping them in the oven for 15 mins or so to warm them up. So good!

  2. @Lindsey: Oh yes I love goat cheese and honey together. It's a bit more messy, but easier to make and so, so delicious. I love it liek that on toasted bread on top of a salad.
